Training on "Skills for Peacebuilding and Countering Extremism" 12th-15th July-Murree



“SoPN: Seeds of Peace Network” is a network of Young people aiming at building peace and combating religious extremism especially Talibanization in Pakistan through promoting tolerance, inter-faith dialogue, harmony, and pluralism in the society, and by strengthening the conflict resolution skills of young people. SoPN is working under the umbrella of Aware Girls (a young women led Organization) working for empowering women and building Peace in the Community. This program is supported by Peace Direct, a UK based organization.

The network has reached hundreds of young people for Peace Education, and has received international recognition. Do you believe that young people has vital role to play in promoting Peace? The next training on "Skills for Peacebuilding and Countering Extremism" will takes place in Murree from 12-15th July 2011. If you are under 25, belong to Peshawar, Tribal Areas, Sawat, or Afghanistan then send your CV and motivation Letter to peace_training@yahoo.com before 30th June, 2011.

Young People who participate in the training will become members of the Seeds of Peace Network (SoPN), and they will take part in the upcoming activities of SoPN.

The training is free of Cost. Scholarships will be provided to selected candidates to cover their travel, food, accommodation, and training charges.

 ONE WEEK TRAINING ON 
LEADERSHIP AND CIVIC EDUCATION FOR YOUNG WOMEN OF PAKISTAN
ONE 
21st-27th February 2011-PESHAWAR

Aware Girls is a young women led Organization with the mission to empower young women and to promote equal rights of young women at all levels of society by strengthening the capacity of young women enabling them to act as agents of women empowerment and Social   Change and by enabling them to have equal access to Decision making, education , health , recreation, Financial Resources and other Social Services, and through advocacy for the promotion and  protection of equal and equitable rights of women at law and policy level.

Aware Girls with the support of International Organization “NED: National Endowment for Democracy” will conduct one week training for young women under 27 in Peshawar from 21st-27th Feb, 2011 on “Leadership, Democracy, Civic Education and Active Citizenship”. The objectives of the training are

i.                     To enhance leadership and Civic disposition skills of Young Women, enabling young women to play their role as active and responsible citizens

ii.                   To enhance the knowledge of Young Women about the constitution, democracy, democratic institutions, State and State Institute, and Governing Systems of Pakistan, Citizenship and Civic Values

iii.                  To enhance the skills of Political Leadership, Effective Communication, Meaningful Participation, Decision Making, Advocacy , Peer to Peer Education, Facilitation,  Public Speaking Skills, negotiation, mediation, and dialogue skills

25 active young women of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa will be selected for the above training  (5 from Peshawar, 5 from Mardan, 5 from Charsadda, 5 from Nowshehra, 5 from Swabi). The Trained young women will be actively involved in the project activities in the above districts, in capacity building workshops for young women, in media consultations, and in dialogue consultations with Parliamentarian and Political Parties.  The trained young women will became members of “Aware Girls” and will thus become part of women’s empowerment movement.

“Seeds of Peace” is a network of Young people aiming at building peace and combating religious extremism in Pakistan through promoting tolerance, inter-faith dialogue, harmony, and pluralism in the society, and by strengthening the conflict resolution skills of young people.

The network is announcing its memberships for the Khuber Pukhtookhwa region especially Peshawar. If you are a young male or female below the age of 27, believe in Peace, Non-Violence and Tolerance, and interested to be part of the local Peace building,  Send your CV and Motivation Letter to peace_seeds@yahoo.com  before 20th November, 2010.  
                
 “ Be part of the Network, and join the movement for Peace Building in Pakistan”

The first four days capacity building training on “Local Peace building and Conflict Resolution” for the member of the Network “Seeds of Peace” will be conducted from 27th- 30th November. Travel and accommodation costs will be provided to the members.

The Secretariat of the network is at “Aware Girls”; a young women led organization working for the empowerment of young women and peace building. Aware Girls will provide Capacity Building trainings on Peace building and Conflict Resolution to the network members. Initial financial support for the activities of the network will also be provided by Aware Girls. Aware Girls is extending this network to Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa specifically Peshawar with the support of “Peace Direct”.

Aware Girls envisions equality of genders and empowerment of young women. Aware Girls aims to empower young women by strengthening their leadership capacity enabling them to work for social change and women empowerment, enabling them to access health, education, governance, political participation, and other social services, and advocate for equal and equitable involvement and meaningful participation of young women at all levels. Working areas of Aware Girls are Leadership and Political Participation, Economic Empowerment through Micro-Entrepreneurship,  Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights and HIV/AIDS, Trauma Healing among Conflict affected Women, Young Women for Peace building, Humanitarian Assistance to Young Women.

We are very happy to take step towards the Economic Empowerment of Young through Micro-Entrepreneurship by announcing Call for Participation in Five Days Training on “Micro-Entrepreneurship and Business Development”. The Training aims to strengthen the capacity of participants in

iii.               Promoting and Marketing Products
iv.               Financial Management
v.                  Developing Business Plans
vi.               Networking with Financial and Support Institutions
vii.             Preparing Loan Application


Eligibility for Training:

If you are young women below the age of 29 living in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa-Pakistan, You are Jobless or even if you have a job, but you want to start your own business and you don’t know how to start it, how to manage it, and how to look for money, then you are eligible to apply for training.
